Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 11, 2026 Effective date: June 11, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Memoro (“we”, “our”, “the App”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application on iOS and Android.
By using Memoro, you agree to the practices described below. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Who we are
Memoro is operated by an individual developer based in the Republic of Uzbekistan. You can reach us at abdufattaxovjamshidmirzo@gmail.com.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you provide directly
- Email address — used for account creation, sign-in, and email verification.
- User-generated content — memory capsules (notes, photos you attach), goals you set in the Safe vault, and items you choose to save.
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Photo library metadata — when you grant photo permission, the App reads metadata about photos already on your device (size, date, file type, location grouping) to support cleanup, screenshot detection, and capsules. We do not upload your photo files to our servers.
- OCR text from screenshots — text extracted on-device from screenshots is sent to our backend for AI categorization (see Section 3). The original image is not transmitted.
- Device information — operating system version, app version, device model, and locale, used for diagnostics and compatibility.
- Push notification token — issued by Apple Push Notification service (APNs) or Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) to deliver reminders.
2.3 Information we do NOT collect
- Photo files themselves never leave your device.
- Biometric data (Face ID, Touch ID, fingerprint) — handled entirely by the operating system; the App only receives a yes/no authentication result.
- Precise GPS location — we do not request location permission.
- Contacts, calendar, microphone, or call history.
3. How we use third-party AI services
When you enable screenshot organization, the on-device OCR text (not the image) is sent to one of the following providers to categorize the screenshot (recipe, document, product, place, etc.):
- GitHub Models (operated by Microsoft Azure) — primary provider.
- Anthropic Claude API — fallback provider.
These providers process the text to return a category and a short title. We do not authorize them to train models on your data. Their respective privacy policies apply:
- GitHub Models / Azure: https://privacy.microsoft.com/privacystatement
- Anthropic: https://www.anthropic.com/legal/privacy
If both providers are unavailable, the App falls back to an on-device heuristic and no text leaves your device.
4. How we use your information
We use the information listed above to:
- Authenticate your account and verify your email.
- Sync your capsules and screenshot library across your devices.
- Categorize screenshots and extract key entities (titles, prices, addresses).
- Deliver scheduled notifications you opted into (e.g. memory capsule reminders).
- Diagnose crashes and improve stability.
- Comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not show third-party advertising in the App.
5. Data storage and retention
- Account data and capsule metadata are stored on our servers (hosted in the European Union or the United States, depending on the region) for as long as your account is active.
- OCR text and AI categorization results are stored until you delete the corresponding screenshot entry.
- Deleted screenshots stay in the in-app trash for 30 days, then are permanently removed.
- If you delete your account, we erase your data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
6. Sharing of information
We share data only with:
- The AI providers listed in Section 3, strictly for the purpose of categorization.
- Apple Push Notification service and Firebase Cloud Messaging, strictly for delivering notifications.
- Law enforcement, only when required by valid legal process.
We do not share, sell, rent, or trade your information for marketing purposes.
7. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Delete your data (right to erasure).
- Export your data in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent for optional processing.
- Object to certain types of processing.
To exercise any of these rights, email abdufattaxovjamshidmirzo@gmail.com. We respond within 30 days.
You can also delete your account directly inside the App: Settings → Account → Delete account.
8. Children’s privacy
Memoro is not directed to children under 13 (or under the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction — 14, 15, or 16 in some countries). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your data:
- TLS encryption in transit for all backend communication.
- Encryption at rest for data stored on our servers.
- Hashed and salted credentials — we never store plaintext passwords or recovery codes.
- Biometric and PIN protection for the Safe vault, processed on-device by the operating system.
No system is 100% secure. If we become aware of a security incident affecting your data, we will notify you in accordance with applicable law.
10. International transfers
Your data may be processed outside Uzbekistan, including in the European Union and the United States. When we transfer data internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses) where required by law.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you in the App and update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App after the update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
